We are now living in a very different world than we were a few weeks ago. The main message is: DON'T PANIC. We all need to stay home if we are sick and try to maintain our distances. The most important thing is to WASH OUR HANDS. The point of all the precautions is to try and slow the spread of the virus so we don't overtax our health care system. Most of us are probably going to get the virus and we will likely recover without problems. We just don't want to all get it now. If the virus spreads too fast, there is concern that we will have a shortage of resources to take care of the small percentage of patients who get very sick.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of rhetoric, politics, sensationalism and predictions out there. Nobody knows how long this will last and the best thing we can do is abide by the recommendations of the CDC. Almost all of us will come through this just fine. We had a terrible Winter in 2017 and now we just have the memories of it. This will be the same. Dr. Brauer
